How to import a recipe from a website

Paste a link to a recipe and Przepisnik fills in the form with the ingredients, steps, temperature and photo. You check it and save.

You don’t have to retype a recipe from a blog or recipe site. A link is enough.

Step by step

  1. Copy the address of the recipe page.
  2. Open Import from a link:
    • on your phone — the chain icon at the top of the Recipes list,
    • in the browser — the Import from a link button above the recipe list.
  3. Paste the address into the box (on the phone the Paste button helps) and tap Import.
  4. Wait a moment — you’ll see “Fetching the recipe…”.
  5. Przepisnik shows a summary: the name, portions, time, oven, the number of ingredients and steps, and the timers it found in the text.
  6. The Photo from the page switch decides whether to include the photo from that page.
  7. Tap Next — review and save. The form opens filled in.
  8. Look through the ingredients and steps, fix anything you need, and tap Save.

If it’s the wrong recipe, choose Another link.

Ingredients to check

Sometimes the summary says, for example, “1 ingredient to check”. That means Przepisnik wasn’t sure about a unit or a name. In the form, that ingredient shows a question — for example, that Przepisnik doesn’t know the unit. You can Add unit or Keep as is.

When it doesn’t work

  • “That doesn’t look like a link” — paste the full page address, starting with https://.
  • “Couldn’t open that page” — check the link and your internet connection.
  • “We couldn’t find a recipe on this page” — the page doesn’t describe its recipe in a way we can read. Copy the recipe text and paste it into a new recipe instead — Przepisnik will recognise the name, ingredients and steps.

An import always ends in the form, so nothing is saved without your say-so.
