Ingredients and how to type them (“Flour 300 g”)

Type an ingredient the way you'd say it and Przepisnik splits it into name, amount and unit. Plus pasting a whole list and linking to the ingredient library.

In the recipe form, open Ingredients and type into the “e.g. Wheat flour 2 cups” box. Word order doesn’t matter — “Flour 300 g” and “300 g flour” are recognised the same way.

One ingredient

  1. Type an ingredient, for example Flour 300 g.
  2. Under the box you’ll see what was recognised: name, amount and unit.
  3. Confirm with Enter (on the phone, Done on the keyboard).

When Przepisnik isn’t sure which ingredient you mean, it asks Which ingredient is it? and suggests a few options. You can also choose Use your own.

A whole list at once

Have a list of ingredients in your notes? Choose Paste a list, paste the text — one ingredient per line — and tap the Add… button showing the number of ingredients.

Ingredient details

Tap an ingredient in the list to edit it. You’ll find:

  • Name, Quantity and Unit — the most common units are at hand (g, ml, pc, tbsp, tsp), the rest are under More units,
  • No amount (to taste, for frying) — for salt or oil,
  • Note — e.g. “melted”,
  • From the library — a link to the ingredient library. “This is how we work out calories, density and your pantry.”
  • It’s a separate recipe — when the ingredient is a cream or a sponge you keep as its own recipe.

Unknown unit

If you type a unit Przepisnik doesn’t know, you’ll be asked about it. Choose Add unit and say how many grams it is, or Keep as is. Custom units have their own article.

Reorder ingredients by dragging them by the handle.
